Death doesn’t take no for an answer… An escort into the next life, or unto death. They are the reapers. Whether it be an angel ferrying dying souls to the other side, a teenage girl making a deal with the devil, or a minor bureaucrat checking a name off a list minutes before the end, reapers, grim or otherwise, are a fixture in the world of science fiction and fantasy.
